Welcome! Amida Buddha Since 2015 Amida Shu meetings have been held in Perth, Scotland, where there is a 'Home Temple - home temples are traditional in Pureland Buddhism. These meetings are run by Sujatin Johnson, who is an Amida priest, one of the Acharyas. She is the senior minister with the Order. Prior to her move to Scotland she ran the Amida Newcastle sangha for 13 years and was Buddhist Chaplain at Newcastle and Northumbria Universities. She teaches Amida Shu Pureland Buddhism and an introduction to basic Buddhism, and offers opportunities for Pureland practice - including chanting, walking, sitting, gentle guided meditation, music, some dancing, some art events - in a warm and welcoming space. She is available as celebrant for ceremonies such as: weddings, partnership blessings, baby namings, funerals, memorials, house blessings. All ceremonies are individually crafted to suit the circumstances and the wishes of those involved and can be fully Buddhist, conducted with celebrants of other religions or spiritual but not overtly Buddhist.
