Continuing with the Red Path.a

This Saturday 23rd at 10.30 ,The Pure Land Gardeners, will be at the allotment. As well as tending to the plants, our main task is to lay the Red Path. Although this is challenging work it is also very therapeutic Witnessing the garden taking its shape is a joy to see. In particular, seeing the flowers on Irene's rose shrub come into blossom, revealing its magnificant beauty.  All welcome. Namo Amida Bu. colin

Another four slabs will need to be laid before the path is then formed into a diamond shape. Watch this space!

Deep Red Rose

The recent spell of excellent weather we have been having here on tyneside has had a positive effect on the garden. Save for a few plants, by and large, everything else is doing well.

It's wonderful to report that Irene's rose shrub is begining to reveal its flowers. The flowers are deep red in colour and are a ''joy'' to see, and clearly they are more than a positive attraction to the garden. It is also worth noting, that Irene's rose has been host to the ladybirds who keep it free form the green fly.

Meanwhile, last saturday, Sally and myself continued with the laying of the Red Path. Although hard work, it feels good to see the path take its shape. And as envisaged should be a positve feature to the garden. Namo Amida Bu. colin

Lovely Company, Lovely food.

Firstly let me wish Sally well as she recovers from a heavy cold.

Last Saturday I began to lay the red path, although not complete, on first impressions, it looks as though it will be a positive addition to the garden when it is finished.

Feeling slightly lonely I was pleased to have the company of Jenny and her younger cousins Judy and Ling, who are both  spending a month with Jenny, before returning to Tiawan.Once again,Jenny brought lunch. After tending to the allotment the four of us chatted as we enjoyed the meal she had so kindley prepared. Namo Amida Bu colin.

Clearing the weeds, clearing the mind

The Allotment has been truly blessed by the sun today. It brightness piercing the gray clouds that have hung over Tyneside for the last few days. The warm gentle breeze gently kissing the leaves of the various plants. Irene's rose shimmering as the breeze dances around the garden. The vegatables taking their turn to dance as the breeze waltzes by them.

Pulling out the numerous weeds, feeding and watering the plants, the P.L.G. Sally, Jenny, Loke Yin, Echo, and myself, have all worked very hard, sharing our experiences as we carried out our tasks. Once again, Jenny brought the lunch. Is  there no end to her generosity?

When it is time to leave the allotment I can not but help feel slightly sad as each one of us goes our separate ways. However, it is also with gratitude in having been able to share in such a wonderful experience. Namo Amida Bu.  colin.
