Here's the kitchen area

The living room

The living room is furnished with two comfortable, squishy sofas with throws and cushions to relax on after a day out.  There's a coffee table and small folding table, two standard lamps, a built in corner cupboard, large mirror and a coal-look gas fire. For entertainment there is a television with built-in DVD player, DVDs, a CD/tape/radio, games, books, magazines and maps. The patio doors open onto the decking with views across the valley to Troutbeck Village and the fells beyond.

The double bedroom

The double bedroom has a pine bed with duvet, pillows, throw, electric blanket. There are bedside cabinets and built in overhead cupboards, wardrobe and dressing table with mirror. The south-facing window looks out towards the bird table and the woods, with a view of the hills.

The twin bedded room

This room has pine twin beds with duvets, pillows, throws and electric blankets, a bedside table with lamp and built in wardrobe, dressing table and mirror. It looks out, past the neighbouring lodge, towards the woodland and the fells behind Limefitt Park.

The bathroom

The bathroom has a shower over the bath, handbasin, bathroom cabinet, built in chest of drawers, toilet and a heated towel rail. Hot water for the lodge is heated by gas - the boiler is in a built in cupboard in the bathroom, where you will also find cleaning materials.

Cooking

To turn on the oven, turn knob to the desired temperature and continue holding in for about 10 - 15 seconds - you can see whether the oven is alight by looking through the oven window.

To light the hob, turn the appropriate knob, holding down, and press the ignition button.

When cooking, use the fan on the cooker hood. The smoke alarm is very sensitive!

Hot water

Hot water is on demand in the bathroom and kitchen, from the water heater in the floor to ceiling cupboard in the bathroom. NB the water comes out cold and under pressure for the first few seconds.

If using the shower remove the shower head from the holder and point down into the bath so you are not blasted with cold water. Pull the D shaped ring towards you. You can turn this to adjust the temperature after a few seconds. When the flow and heat are to your liking, replace into the holder.

Taking care with the drains

There have been problems with the drains blocking on the park, due to what has been put down them, which then have to be fixed by Retro Cleanse, only to block again.

Please help the park avoid this.

What not to put down the loo or sinks:
fat, kitchen and baby wipes, kitchen roll, 'Charmin' loo paper.

Eating on the deck

The key to the RH French window in the drawer to the left of the sink (where the cooking cutlery is kept). The main key to this door is on the keyring - it's the narrowest of these.

There are deck chairs in the shed - the key is the widest on the keyring.

There are also directors chairs to use at the outside table if there are more than two of you. For the outside metal chairs there are two white cushions beside the inside pine table. Please use these outside and not the red checked ones. There are 'strawberry' melamine bowls, plates and beakers in the bottom of the dresser to use when eating outside.

Feeding the wildlife

Do feed the badgers - they particularly like peanut butter sandwiches, which you can put in the stainless steel dish opposite the door, leaving the gate at the top of the stairs open. They come at dusk. They don't mind the outside light on, so you can see them better, but they are shy and very sensitive to noise.

There is bird seed in the shed in the cream metal bin marked "dog food'. Please keep the lid on this so as not to encourage the fieldmice. The birdtable under the rowan tree opposite the kitchen window belongs to the lodge so do fill the seed containers and you'll have a cabaret to watch.
