A message from Susthama:

Dear Friends,

With the Amida conference approaching fast we need your help to get the word out. If you would like to help, please circulate information on any networks you know, put notices on notice boards, and, above all, tell people. Word of mouth is what helps most. If you can distribute publicity material please do and if you need more, please let Mudita or me know.

The conference is shaping up really well so far. Here is a glimpse of what to expect:

Speakers

Mary Midgley, philosopher and author, will be speaking as well as the following:
Jim Pym,Pure Land Buddhist Fellowship
Wendy Dossett,University of Wales
Kazuo Yamashita, Japan,Shin-shu Counselling
David Dharmavidya Brazier,Amida-shu
Alan Oliver, USA, Ashoka Network, Buddhist Economics
Caroline Prasada Brazier,Amida-shu
Dennis Oliver,Christian Buddhist
Parami McMillan, Western Buddhist Order

Workshops

Alan Oliver "Developing a Global Process for Buddhist Economics"
Zelda Alexander "Losing Homelands Known and Unknown"
Dr Nigel Northcott "Experiences of Chaplaincy to Young Offenders - the Dharmma behind the bars!"
Mudita and Joan McCann "Buddhist Parenting - Pureland Style"
Modgala and Zelda Alexander "Bringing together our Jewish and Buddhist Faiths and finding a meeting at the heart"
Alex Barr "Nekkhama*, sila, the asavas, and environmental action: a discussion"
Patricia Obregón "Pranic Healing"
Claire Odeon Hershman "Desperate Trojan Housewives"
Gina Clayton (Sundari) and Mike Fitter (Bhaktika) "Seeking Asylum, Finding Home"

A clarification about prices:

The actual cost is £185 for twin room and £155 for dormitory if you are coming to the whole thing, which covers atendance and full board accommodation. The cost for full attendance without accommodation is £145. The day rate is £55 which doesn't include accommodation. If you want to know how much it is to stay for other periods of time do ask us.

It would be helpful if you could get in touch early if you are planning to come as we need to know how much accommodation to arrange. Also it helps with advance planning for catering.

On past experience, we're expecting the conference to be an exciting and stimulating event, so we realy hope you'll be with us.

To book please contact mudita@amidatrust.com or phone +44 (0)116 286 7476 for more information.

All best wishes

Susthama
