On Thursday I was told that I am developing cataracts. Another indication of the aging process - hey ho. My sight has deteriorated in other ways, too, so new specs are on order. And I've looked for and ordered some supplements to add to my usual daily vitamins.
Sitting here and thinking about a way to view this in a positive light, it came to me that, of course, clear outer vision is about seeing and engaging with the outside world - abilities and a direction that I don't want to lose - my engagement with the outer will undoubtedly continue.
But maybe a gift in this is to close the eyes more and to engage with the inner world and to see what insight, inner vision, will develop with time, withdrawal and stillness.
