Amida Buddha
Since 2015 Pureland Buddhist meetings have been held in Perth, Scotland, where there is a 'Home Temple - home temples are traditional in Pureland Buddhism.
These meetings are run by Sujatin Johnson, who is a Pureland priest. She offers Pureland Buddhist practice meetings (see below**) and an introduction to basic Buddhism. Practice includes chanting, walking, sitting, gentle guided meditation, music, some dancing, some art events - held in a warm and welcoming space.
Prior to her move to Scotland she took care of a sangha in Newcastle for 13 years and was Buddhist Chaplain at Newcastle and Northumbria Universities.
She is available to act as celebrant for ceremonies such as: weddings, partnership blessings, baby namings, funerals, memorials, house blessings. All ceremonies are individually crafted to suit the circumstances and the wishes of those involved and can be fully Buddhist, conducted with celebrants of other religions or spiritual but not overtly Buddhist.
"Please come along to our sangha meetings, find out what we do, make
friends as we support each other in our spiritual journeys."
Sujatin
