Nothing to do with your stars, Mum. Computers are just like that. Especially computers running Windows.

The *best* advice is that which I've already given you; a nice cup of tea. I can see that you are picking things up - you worked out for yourself that a chocolate biscuit would add to the effectiveness of this important technique.

Next best advice; get an iMac. ;-)

Yes, I see your point about Macs. I didn't realise they had overtaken PCs - probably the virus situation will be one of the factors.
This is a newish (18 month old) computer so I'll have to wait until I need a new one but will probably take your advice.
