Today is another sewing day - for the last couple of days I've been making myself a couple of Chinese-type tunic jackets to wear when red civvies are too little and robe is too much for the occasion. And I've been listening, on my iPod, while sewing, to Pat Metheny, Joni Mitchell, Jan Garbarek and k.d.lang. All great chill out music to balance the speed of the sewing machine.
Joni Mitchell and Pat Metheny... nice. I saw Joni live when I was about 17/18. She had just married Larry Klein, a member of her band. She appeared happy, reflected in the new sound of her music, which alas, was a little bland. still, she also did a sole set with the encouragement of the audience, and that stays with me to this day. Have you got her live album "shadows and light". the version of "amelia" which finishes with a pat metheny guitar solo is sublime!

I love sewing. But, it is a bit difficult for me since I don't have a sewing machine. :-) Actually, I love fabric!
Enjoy your sewing.

Dear Cindy - More today as I'll be cutting out some basic red trousers (pants?) to take with me to our retreat centre. And tonight - embroidery with Colin and Sally, as they finish their wagesas.
