Having a pure mind is a blessing. Trust me. I struggle with clutter.

Me too - inner and outer!

I feel so grateful for the Pureland teaching - that we are and always will be bompu - foolish beings. Foolish, not in the sense of stupid but subject to human frailty, human nature. This does not excuse us of eveything, allow a sense of 'I can't do anything about it so any behaviour goes' but does concede that 'we are inclined to do these things, being human, aren't we', so we don't spend all our time straining for impossible perfection. And we are more forgiving of others when we are more honest about ourselves. So our energy can go outwards towards helping others who have more pressing problems.
